November 2017 Meeting Recap

The last meeting of the year was all fun, no biz. We said goodbye to the ole Executive (well, not really goodbye ...) and got an early start on the holiday festivities. But before that, we got to see what's been keeping you busy.

2017 UFO Challenge

Christine Navarro’s gorgeous Weight of Love is one satisfying checkmark in her column of UFOs

Christmas in July by Karen got us all pumped for the Season

As we've extend the deadline until the January meeting, there's still time to finish up your 2017 UFOs. Get cracking!

Show & Share

In the spirit of Canada 150, Lynda’s 1779 quilt was inspired by the iconic HBC Point Blanket

Gayle’s Wedding Bands quilt top promises to be a great finish

Jane’s juicy Pineapples quilt is a modern take on a Buggy Barn pattern

Jeannie’s bold yet transparent Bee Loved quilt is a heartthrobber!

Her Diamond in the Rough is sparkly in all the right places

The use of solids in Laura’s Betsy’s Quilt is perfection

You can always count on Ludgera’s love for Cotton & Steel! First up, Noodlehead's 2 by 4 quilt

Taffy Pull quilt top by Pen + Paper looks like stained glass

Inherited a stack of vintage hankies? Since they’re no longer practical (and uh… grr-ros!) they can still be put to good use. Set them on blocks and voilà, a quick quilt project!

After these great shares, we kicked off the our Holiday Party with some jingly tunes and a sweet spread of treats.

Our annual Bad Santa Gift Exchange did not disappoint. There were several covetable gifts that kept crossing the floor. We sure wore down the hardwood!

Karen’s challenging HST Game is always a crowd-pleaser. Watch who won the finals:

Such a fun meeting and a lovely close to a great year. All the best this holiday season and may all your quilty wishes come true!

See you in January – new year, new guild leadership, and set some cash aside – our fundraising Craft Sale is on!
