June 2017

Our June meeting was held on the first Sunday this month at The Workroom’s new shop & studio space. Heavy on guild biz (a mini-AGM of sorts!), the Executive went through bylaw amendments and proposals were discussed.

And since we had quorum, motion was carried unanimously. If you’d like more details, meeting minutes can be found here. Members were then split into three groups to discuss the survey results. A recap of this breakout session can be found here.

Elena’s cute maple leaf tea cozy!

Laura is super proud of her hand appliqued 1+1=3 quilt based on
Carolyn Freidlander’s Catenary pattern.

Always pushing the paper piecing envelope even further, Berene’s new blocks did not disappoint! Get your patterns here.

Grace from her Tattoo series.

Water Lily

Block lotto

Lucky Dia won the Paper Plane block lotto draw. Can't wait to see them float into a quilt!

No lecture or demo this month. Instead, Karen led us into a mini-charm square game of Trader’s Dice. High stakes rollin'!

New Challenge

Adrienne invited members to take part in this year’s President’s Challenge. Participants paired up and randomly drew two crayons. Predominantly using these two colours, the pair will work together to create a quilt (approx. 30” to 60” per side). The Challenge is still open so buddy up with a pal and break out the crayons. Quilts are due at the October 1 meeting.
